Members of NATO Parliamentary Assembly demand from Alliance to take more effective steps towards Georgia

Members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly are demanding more effective steps towards Georgia from the Alliance, including in the context of MAP. The announcements were made in Bucharest, where the 63rd session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is underway. The resolution prepared by the German MP which also includes Georgian issue should be aproved at the session .

"There are countries where NATO can make a positive change. This applies not only to the Eastern European countries, but also to Ukraine and Georgia. I often visit these countries and it"s hard for me to answer where the outcome of their progress is felt . These countries should not be disappointed. They do everything but still can not get MAP. We need to show them that there is light at the end of tunnel. If we do not give them hope, all of us know who will be happy, "- said Hanes Hanso, a member of the Estonian delegation.

As for NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Georgia and Ukraine have significant political and technical support from NATO.

"No matter whether the membership of the alliance will be soon, reforms should be taken. Our partnership has a great price. Our cooperation and practical support towards them should be increased, "- Jens Stoltenberg said.
