Reconstruction of Gudiashvili Square may become the reason for noisy discussions - specialists demand explanations from Tbilisi City Hall. It is not yet known which company will carry out rehabilitation works.

The rehabilitation project was developed by UNESCO International Committee "Ikomos" two years ago and was handed over to Tbilisi Development Fund, but the works have not yet begun.

Damage and destruction of buildings was the reason why the Tbilisi Development Fund requested rehabilitation. The appeal was received by the government several days ago. The document says that the state of buildings might be threatening for residents and visitors there.

These opinions are unacceptable for the Sakrebulo opposition. In their opinion, Tbilisi City Hall tries to select the desired company by negotiating with one person.

50 million GEL is allocated for reconstruction. The opposition thinks that the budget of the capital will save at least 5 million GEL if the tender is conducted.

Mayor of Tbilisi declares that the decision regarding the company has not yet been made.
