The index of democracy in Georgia has deteriorated - Freedom House publishes another report on the states in transition.
According to the annual survey, Georgia"s democratic progress rating is 4, 68 which is lower than last year.
According to the document, Georgia has worsened positions in media freedom and local democratic governance. The study says:
"Billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili resigned from the post of prime minister after a year of ruling in 2013, but he maintains control over the party, Ivanishvili"s political vendettes and Tbilisi development plan still burdens the Georgian politics," the document reads.
In the report of Freedom House, Georgia is on the list of transitional or hybrid regimes, where as a rule, there are electoral democracies, however weak democratic institutions - significant challenges in respect of human rights and civil liberties.
