The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs David Dondua.
The focus was on the situation in Georgia in terms of protection of national minorities and their integration into the country"s political, economic and social life.
Within the framework of the visit, Lamberto Zannier has planned meetings with the executive and legislative authorities of Georgia.
"During my first visit to Georgia, I will focus on integration of national minority. In this context, the provision of proper language teaching is a priority, as it is a precondition for successful integration. It is important that minority representatives feel that they are part of the economic and administrative activities of the country. I will travel to Abkhazia as well. I consider that, due to the difficult history of the region, it is important to find facts of finding a possible range of cooperation in order to get closer to people, "said Lamberto Zannier, OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities.
