"European Georgia" calls on the government to release Vano Merabishvili from prison. Otar Kakhidze made a statement at the special briefing today.

According to the member of "European Georgia", the issue of enforcing the decision of the Strasbourg Court on Vano Merabishvili"s case will be discussed at the Cabinet meeting of the Council of Europe in a few days.

Kakhidze calls on the government to fulfil the decision of the European Court and prosecute those individuals, who are linked with Merabishvili"s withdrawal from the prison cell.
"I call on the Government of Georgia not to wait for this meeting of the Committee of Ministers to take steps that are necessary for the implementation of the Strasbourg Court"s decision," Kakhidze said.
