The Palitra Case has become a subject of political consideration - the opposition is confident that the government wants to gain influence over the editorial policy of Media Holding and that is why the investigation was launched.
Media Holding "Palitra" owns a TV station,a radio station and an influential news agency "InterPressNews" and one of the high-profile newspapers, Kviris Palitra.
By the end of the day, Kviris Palitra published an articleabout internal clan confrontation in the Georgian Dream"s government . Journalistic investigation says that Dimitri Kumsishvili"s persecution was initiated by Bidzina Ivanishvili"s brother Ucha Mamatsashvili and Vano Chkhartishvili and Giorgi Gakharia. It is also noted that the Prosecutor"s Office has come to "Palitra" with for obtaining information against Kumsishvili, which will then be presented to Bidzina Ivanishvili.
On the background of the opposition"s and the NGOs accusations , the government was in the mode of self defense.
The Prosecutor"s Office entered "Palitra Media" newspaper two days ago and removed financial documentation. According to the main investigative agency, the investigation is being carried out on the facts of abuse of power by public officials using the official position for embezzlement of large amount of state funds.
The case concerns the credits taken by "Colarpak" in 2014. The credit interest was covered by the state budget for two years.
