The Mayor of Tbilisi expresses his condolences to the deceased mother"s family after the explosion occurred in Ponichala. Kakha Kaladze was on the spot of the incident during the whole day. According to him,it was a great tragedy that killed two people.

Four persons were injured as a result of the explosion that was allegedly caused by a natural gas leakage in Zemo Ponichala district of Tbilisi today. The explosion, which occurred on the 3 rd floor of a multi- storey dwelling house, collapsed a part of the building.

The survivors have been looking for 6 hours in the ruins for the mother and her infant. A 30-year-old woman and nine-month-old baby were found dead.
