The fire broke out at “Tergi” Market territory today, at Tsabadze Street, Didube district of Tbilisi.
Reportedly, the fire broke out on the second floor of the market.
Four fire brigades are working on the spot at the moment. Additional forces are also being mobilized. Due to the strong fire and heavy smoke, it is not yet clear which products are burning.
What caused the fire is not known at this stage.
According to the traders, the fire was likely caused by a short circuit, but the exact reason is still unknown. The shopping center area is surrounded by police with yellow ribbons.
Rescue workers and police are evacuating traders and persons in the building.
