Mikheil Kavelashvili, elected as President by the Electoral College, will take the presidential oath at the Palace of Parliament.

The inauguration will be held on December 29. The ceremony will begin at 11:00. The event is being prepared by the legislature’s staff.

Attendees will include members of the Electoral College (so-called “electors”), government officials, representatives of constitutional bodies, and members of the President’s family.

Indirect presidential elections were held on December 14 at the Palace of Parliament. Kavelashvili was the only candidate nominated for the post of president. He was elected by 224 members of the Georgian Dream in the Electoral College. The opposition did not participate in the elections.
