National Bank of Georgia sells $20 mln amid GEL depreciation

According to the currency exchange rate determined by the National Bank of Georgia, today 1 US dollar exchange rate is GEL 2.9712. Yesterday $ 1 was possible to buy for GEL 2.9753.

1 euro can be purchased for GEL 3.2737, while yesterday 1 euro cost GEL 3.2770. Consequently, GEL has strengthened by 0.0033 points against euro.
Also today the National Bank of Georgia has sold $20 mln amid GEL depreciation. The weighted average exchange rate amounted to 2.9712 lari, says the NBG. The depreciation of the exchange rate has boosted inflationary expectations.
