The Prime Minister of Georgia commented on the recent letter addressed to him by two U.S. Senators.
According to Giorgi Gakharia, the Government has “never feared acute questions and were always ready to give answers”.
“As you know, the new U.S. Ambassador arrived in Georgia yesterday. The parliamentary delegation will leave for the U.S. in the nearest future. I assure you that we will be very active, effective and objective about what you are making an excitement of. I reiterate that the U.S. is our strategic partner”, said the Head of the Government.
U.S. Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia, in which they expressed “concern over recent events that indicate a backsliding from Georgia’s commitment to build the institutions of their democracy”.
