Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani addressed the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on January 30, in his capacity as the Chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
In his speech Zalkaliani spoke of the priorities of Georgia’s six-month presidency.
“The cooperation of the OSCE and the Council of Europe is based on common values of democracy, human rights, rule of law. Human dimension is solid link between the activities of the two organizations”, - tweeted the Minister.
Zalkaliani also stressed that Russia should fulfill its obligations.
As part of his one-day visit to Vienna, Davit Zalkaliani met with the OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger, discussing cooperation between the Council of Europe and the OSCE, as well as “grave human rights and security situation” in the Russian occupied regions of Georgia. He also met with OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Desir.
