Chief specialist of Agency for Providing IDPs, Eco-Migrants and Livelihoods detained for taking bribes

Employees of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service, based on the judge’s decision, detained the Chief Specialist of the Registration Division of the Ministry at the Agency for Providing IDPs, Eco-Migrants and Livelihoods for taking bribes.

The investigation established that an employee of the agency systematically received various amounts of cash in the form of bribes from eco-migrants in need of resettlement in exchange for a positive decision to issue a GEL 25,000 grant approved by the state program.

In March 2021, he took GEL 1,500 from a citizen in exchange for a house in Tsalka district and GEL 2,000 in exchange for a house in Adigeni district in May of the same year.

An investigative actions are underway into the bribery.
