Georgian Dream had filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court regarding the separation of powers with President

The Georgian Dream Government had filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court regarding the separation of powers with President Salome Zourabichvili over the ambassadorial (non) appointments.

“The Government of Georgia considers that the rejection of the nominations by the President of Georgia for the appointment and dismissal of ambassadors does not constitute its constitutional authority.

It is the exclusive prerogative of the Government to make decisions on which ambassador or head of diplomatic mission will most appropriately serve the interests of the country’s effective foreign policy”, - reads the statement.
