The Government decided to assist Ukrainian refugees. Such a statement made today the Minister of Health.

“The employees of the Agency for Internally Displaced People visited 40 hotels and all IDPs were registered. They had already received the assistance. There is speculation as if the Government has left the Ukrainian refugees without shelters.

The Government decided to assist Ukrainian refugees and those, who were not accommodated in hotels, with GEL 300 each family and GEL 45 each person, upon their request.

Before making the decision of assistance for the refugees, the Government had seen the practices and examples of all countries where Ukrainians had received assistance and shelter.

I would like to briefly explain how the Georgian government defined the amount of assistance. As you know, Ukrainian refugees are present in different countries and we have seen the practices and examples of all the countries. It is also important that we have about 300,000 displaced compatriots in the country. We wanted this amount to be close to their aid package”, - said Zurab Azarashvili.
