All costs for organizing the Central Park of Hippodrome to be covered by Charity Foundation Cartu. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“I have repeatedly talked about the importance of the central park arrangement project on the territory of the former hippodrome, and I would like to emphasize once again that, unfortunately, we do not have a recreational space of this scale in the capital. The existing space was private property - the territory was owned by Bidzina Ivanishvili and her family. As a result of a memorandum of understanding, they gave it to the Municipality as a gift, and an important central park for the city will be arranged here. I would like to emphasize one circumstance that part of the society did not understand, part of it understood well, however, trying to mislead the society. Charity Foundation Cartu and Bidzina Ivanishvili did not limit themselves to the transfer of this space to the capital, all the works that will be carried out - landscaping, putting in order, rehabilitation, all costs are undertaken to be covered by this person. The Municipality will not have to spend even a single lari. The project is implemented with the funding of Bidzina Ivanishvili and her family, for which I would like to thank him once again.

The following changes have been made in the project: the space of the parking lot has been reduced, and in its place, on an area of ​​5 937 square meters, it is planned to arrange green spaces and a tennis court. 245 parking spaces will remain in the park, instead of 440. Green spaces and a tennis sports field will be arranged in the mentioned territory. In addition, decorative attractions have been replaced. Namely, on the site of the French Garden and the Botanical Garden, the total area of ​​which was 28 232 square meters, will be canceled and only green spaces and picnic meadows will be arranged in the mentioned area, and trees and plants will be planted on small hills for shade”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
