Moldovan flag carrier Air Moldova said on Friday it is resuming flights to Russia’s capital Moscow as of October 1 due to high demand.

This decision comes as a result of countless requests from Moldovan citizens who are in Russia and want to return home, Air Moldova said in a press release.

The decision to resume flights also takes into consideration passenger requests to use tickets purchased during the pandemic.

Moldova suspended all flights to Russia soon after the country launched a military invasion of Ukraine in February.
