The Parliament of Georgia has announced that a red level of security will be in effect at the Parliament building until 14:00, after which a yellow level will be put in place.
This decision comes as a result of damage to the building and infrastructure caused by the attack carried out by the participants of the protest rally on May 1.
Besides, the bureau and plenary sessions will not take place at the Parliament Palace on May 2.
Cleaning and restoration work is currently underway at the Parliament Palace.
During the red level of security, access to the legislature will be restricted to all persons except those deemed necessary by the head of the parliamentary staff according to the specific threat and measures needed to avoid it.
Once the red level is canceled at 14:00, a yellow level of security will be implemented, at which time visitors will be restricted from entering the Parliament, and only employees of the legislature will be allowed entry.
