Firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out on the top floor of an apartment block in Batumi.

According to the Emergency Management Service, the fire completely destroyed a restaurant on the top floor of the block, which is adjacent to other residential buildings.

No injuries have been reported, with residents evacuated from the building shortly after the fire broke out on the top floor.

More than 10 fire-rescue teams were mobilized on the spot. According to the locals, the restaurant was closed and renovation work was going on there.
