Tbilisi City Court ordered pre-trial detention for Guga Gotsiridze, who was arrested in connection with the attack on TBC Bank. With this decision, the judge satisfied the motion of the Prosecutor. The defence’s request for bail was denied.

“Gotsiridze cooperates with the investigation and therefore it would have been appropriate for the judge to make a less severe decision. Gotsiridze has a very serious emotional background, which is why he didn’t make statements at trial”, - said his lawyer, David Barbakadze.

The next court session is scheduled for February 29.

On January 3, the accused, demonstrating an object similar to a pistol, attacked the employees of TBC Bank located on Sulkhan Tsintsadze St., Tbilisi, threatened to take their lives, demanding money. Due to the activation of the alarm signal, the accused could not get the money and he fled from the scene.
