19-year-old Georgian athlete Ana Japaridze advances to Paralympic Games taekwondo quarterfinals

19-year-old Georgian para taekwondo athlete advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s 52kg division at the ongoing Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.

Ana Japaridze defeated Ariana Paola Aguila Ramos [US] 22:2 to gain the place in the quarterfinals.

Later today Japaridze will face Meryem Betül Çavdar [Turkey].

It should be mentioned that Ana Japaridze is the youngest member of the Georgian national team.

Georgian para taekwondo athletes are participating at the Games for the 1st time. Giorgi Nikoladze, another member of the national team, will join the competition on Friday.
