The Defence and Security Committee held its final meeting within the framework of the current convocation of Parliament, during which the MPs unanimously supported the government’s resolution on the strength of the Defenсe Forces.

“The resolution determining the number of the Defence Forces is submitted to the Parliament of Georgia for approval in parallel with the presentation of the state budget draft. The size of the Defence Forces for 2025 is set at no more than 37,000 military personnel, similar to the current year”, - said Grigol Giorgadze, the Deputy Minister of Defense, the rapporteur on the issue.

The First Deputy Chairman of the committee, Tengiz Sharmanashvili, thanked the committee members for their active involvement in the committee’s work and wished them success in their future endeavours.
