Prime Minister, together with Tbilisi Mayor, visits cable car connecting Freedom Square and Tabor Ridge, and Paragraph hotel complex under construction on Tabor

Prime Minister of Georgia, accompanied by Tbilisi Mayor, familiarized himself with the cable car route connecting Freedom Square and Tabor Ridge, also with the Paragraph hotel complex under construction on Tabor

The Head of Government and Kakha Kaladze enjoyed a cable car ride together and were briefed in detail about the project by Giorgi Baidarashvili, CEO of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund.

“The Paragraph hotel complex under construction on Tabor is a very exciting project poised to promote the development of the whole city and bolster the use of tourism potential. Some 175 million USD has been invested into the project, and it will be a unique attraction for Tbilisi’s residents and tourists visiting Georgia.

We enjoyed a cable car ride, and it is great news that both the hotel complex and the cable car route will open by New Year, so that it may be accessible to both our compatriots and foreign visitors. I want to thank Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili-along with the Cartu Foundation-as the person behind the idea as a whole and the project. Bidzina Ivanishvili always carries out projects focused on the country’s development, and this project best illustrates the foregoing”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The total amount of the investment into the cable car project connecting Freedom Square and Tabor Ridge amounts to 20 million USD. Both sections of the cable car can transport 1,000 passengers per hour. The distance between the stations of the first section is 1,200 meters, and a ride takes about 5 minutes. And it takes 3.5 minutes to cover the 700-meter distance separating the stations of the second section.

The Prime Minister and the Tbilisi Mayor also familiarized themselves with the construction site of the Paragraph hotel about to be finalized on Tabor Ridge. The construction of Paragraph Tabor and the cable car route connecting Freedom Square and Tabor Ridge will be completed by New Year.
