However, instead of marrying a groom, the Toxic hitmaker surprised fans by announcing she has married herself. “The day I married myself… Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done !!!” she wrote in the caption.

The singer - who recently revealed her “crazy girl crushes” - was seen posing in front of the camera in the bridal white look and adjusting her veil. Britney teamed her dress with a pair of pointed-toe black heels, and wore her blonde tresses cascading down in waves. The mom-of-two accessorized with a dainty gold necklace and wore her signature black eyeliner for the special occasion. The clip was set to “Fields of Gold” by Sting. The Princess of Pop also posted a snap of an empty church with no caption.
