The state to purchase houses in rural areas for up to 600 internally displaced families

The Agency for IDPs, Eco-Migrants and Livelihoods will purchase houses in rural areas for up to 600 internally displaced families. The list of these families has been published on the agency’s website.

Internally displaced families are given a 6-month period to choose houses in any region of Georgia themselves. The amount allocated for the purchase of housing is determined taking into account the family’s income.

The “Rural House” purchase project began in 2014 and has gained special significance in recent years. During this period, the state has purchased houses for more than 11,000 internally displaced families, including about 1,400 families who were resettled this year.

In total, up to GEL 266 million was spent from the state budget within the framework of the project, and more than GEL 35 million in 2024 alone.

In the 2025 budget, GEL 65 million will be allocated for the purchase of houses in rural areas.
