Jimmy Carter will always be remembered in Georgia as an advocate of peace, democracy, and human rights in the world - Kobakhidze

The Prime Minister of Georgia highlighted the role of the former US President Jimmy Carter in advocating “peace, democracy, and human rights” in the world, after the 39th President of the US died at age 100.

“The former US President Jimmy Carter will always be remembered in Georgia as an advocate of peace, democracy, and human rights in the world.

“Our deepest condolences to the Carter family over the loss of such an inspiring person who defended the US interests and universal values in the face of many challenges”, - writes Irakli Kobakhidze.

Carter, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his human rights work around the world, had been in hospice care since February 2023 at his home in Plains, Georgia.
