US President Joe Biden announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. It amounts to USD 2.5 billion, according to the White House statement.

“Today, I am proud to announce nearly USD 2.5 billion in security assistance for Ukraine, as the Ukrainian people continue to defend their independence and freedom from Russian aggression”, the White House quoted Biden.

The Pentagon is currently in the process of delivering hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of missiles, and hundreds of armored vehicles that will strengthen Ukraine on its way to winter, the statement adds.

The new package includes USD 1.22 billion under the USAI program, meaning that these weapons and equipment are still to be manufactured and then transferred to Ukraine. The other USD 1.24 billion in aid will come from the Pentagon’s stockpile.
