
The Special Investigation Service arrested a 45-year-old man for committing pedophilia and a lewd act against a 14-year-old girl.
The investigation established that the accused person contacted 14-year-old juvenile through a fake Facebook page, introduced himself as an underage boy or girl, and entered into communication with the children, after which he would start talking about sexual topics and demand that they undress themselves and make video calls.
In February 2025, the accused contacted a 14-year-old girl on Facebook, gained her trust through deception, and then forced her to enter the bathroom, connect to a video call, undress herself, and perform intimate acts. At the same time, while texting and talking on the video call, he performed sexual acts. The accused exerted psychological pressure on the minor for months.
The Special Investigation Service, upon receiving a complaint from the minor victim, promptly launched an investigation and carried out urgent investigative activities. As a result of a search the accused person"s residence, his mobile phone and computer equipment were seized. The correspondence and fake profiles of the person exposed in pedophilia were decrypted, after which the investigation exposed a 45-year-old man from the Dusheti Municipality in the crime.
Fake social media profiles were found in the accused person’s phone, through which the man used to communicate with dozens of minors. In addition, pornographic and private photo and video materials were also found.
The Special Investigation Service is continuing the investigation of the case, and all criminal episodes of the accused person will be examined.
The Service will investigate the best interests of the minors and will protect the rights of children at all stages of the investigation.
Crime envisages imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years.
We would like to remind the public that, at the initiative of the Special Investigation Service, an electronic registry of individuals exposed to pedophilia will be created, and strict monitoring will be implemented against such individuals after they serve their sentence and leave prison.
