As a result of close coordination between the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and other relevant units of the Ministry, as part of the complex measures, 18 foreign citizens were deported from Georgia.
Among them are citizens of Iran, China, Russia, Nigeria, Egypt, Bangladesh, Belarus, Turkey, India, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. In accordance with the current legislation, the deported persons were banned from entering the country.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to identify foreign citizens who reside in Georgia without legal grounds and to carry out their expulsion from Georgia.
