We cannot agree with the idea that our eastern territories and Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, belong to Russia. That is why I want to meet with him as a person who makes decisions - Zelensky

Ukrainian President has offered Vladimir Putin a meeting in Turkey, mediated by Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In an interview with Turkish media, Volodymyr Zelensky explained that issues on which working delegations cannot agree can only be resolved at the level of heads of state.

He reiterated that Kyiv does not intend to give up the occupied Crimea and the eastern territories and that at this stage the priority is a ceasefire on the current front line, after which it will be possible to discuss other issues.

"We cannot agree with the idea that our eastern territories and Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, belong to Russia. This contradicts our dignity, the will of our society and the Constitution. This is exactly what Russia wants and is trying to make this proposal to us through various intermediaries. However, such an approach is unhealthy and illogical. That is why I want to meet with him as a person who makes decisions", - said Volodymyr Zelensky.
