One of the main topics of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will be the resignation of the President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly. The head of the Legal Committee of the Council of Europe, who visited Syria together with Pedro Agramunt, has already resigned as a result of the scandal.

The Georgian delegation calls on the President of the Assembly to resign. At the end of the day, Zviad Kvachantiradze made a statement.

During his speech, the Georgian MP once again emphasized Russia`s actions on the occupied territories that violate international law norms.

"Georgia today is facing Russia`s destructive policy that does not respect international norms and principles. Russia has signed Agreements with occupied regimes. On the occupied territories of Georgia elections and referendumsare held. The Georgian side is trying to use peaceful ways of solving the conflict.

I would like to express my position regarding the visit of our Assembly members and the President to Syria. In spite of my respect for Pedro Agramunt, I call on him to resign immediately, "said Zviad Kvachantiradze, a member of the Georgian Dream.
