Three prisoners convicted in human torture demand to reinvestigate their guilt

Three prisoners accused of human torture protest the decision of the City Court. Beka Gelkhauri, Levan Liparidze and Saba Jincharadze have contacted "Kurier". The City Court found them guilty in the torture of Giorgi Milashvili in 2015 and sentenced each of them to 10 years in prison.

Convicts claim that their case was used by the then Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili for PR.

In addition to Gelkhauri, Liparidze and Jincharadze, 4 more persons were convicted for the torture of prisoner in 2015. Human Rights Defenders appealed to the Court of Appeal Court several months ago, but the session was postponed several times. The family members of the prisoners assembled at the Prosecutor"s Office demanding to investigate the case and a meeting with Irakli Shotadze.
