Zaza Gurchiani, the head of Kobuleti police has resigned. He wrote a resignation letter a few days ago . According to one of the versions, a decision is linked to a special operation in Kobuleti on November 25, which resulted in the arrest of one citizen of Turkey.

Reportedly, it was planned to detain two more people, which allegedly failed, so, the police chief left the post.

The Kobuleti police say that Zaza Gurchiani has not been in the office for two days already. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms that Gurchiani has resigned on the basis of his personal statement but does not specify details.

According to the agency, the resignation is not connected with the special operation.
