The reason for the death of a 33-year-old referee is unknown. The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not comment on the investigative activities.

It is also unknown whether the football community was questioned about the incident. It is known only that the investigation is under way under Article 115, which means driving to suicide.

The 33-year-old Ilia Tugushi`s family is sure that the referee was a victim of pressure and the case was related to the sold game. One of the persons named by the deceased"s wife confirmed his visit to Eloshvili`s home a day before the incident, though Lanchkhuti rules out the sold game between Guria and Telavi teams.

The relatives of the deceased claimed that representatives of Lanchkhuti team and Football federation were asking the referee to pay 5,000 thousand GEL for the game. Other referees rule out the fact.
