Parliament will vote today for the constitutional amendments in the first reading. The legislative body did not hold the procedure yesterday and the majority plans to approve the bill with 113 votes.
It is known that the amendments will have one-party support, because the opposition factions are not supporting new amendments in the country"s main law soon after the constitutional reform.
"They all changed, worsened, and if not for the pressure of the Venice Commission, the constitutioni today would have been even worse . Therefore, our participation in this process is a kind of protest that the country has lost a very important leverage for democratic development, "said Roman Gotsiridze, chairman of the National Movement faction.
Members of "European Georgia" say that by making changes, the ruling team tries to improve their damaged image on the international arena.
