NGOs criticize the initiative of the Ministry of Justice regarding the amendments to the law that enviksages immediate assess to information from public agencies.
The case concerns the amendment to Article 18 of the Constitution, which provides for uninterrupted access to information from public agencies if these documents do not contain state commercial or private secrets.
The third sector states that after the new initiative is approved, the assess to information will be complicated. Eleven non-governmental organizations have already addressed the Parliament with a protest letter and demanded to reject the initiative of the Ministry of Justice.
The NGOs say that these changes will mainly serve the interests of law enforcement agencies.
The Minister of Justice confirms that the law enforcement agencies are interested in the initiated amendments. Members of the majority say that Tea Tsulukiani"s office should specify the package of these changes.
The opposition has doubts that after the new record in the constitution, information on budget spending will become even more inaccessible.
