Nongovernmental organizations are talking about a possible abuse of power by special forces during special operation in Pankisi. The civil sector demands timely investigation from the Chief Prosecutor"s Office and asks to answer the existing questions.
"We have very little information about these cases, including a number of questions arising from the special operation conducted recently in the Pankisi Gorge, about the young man who was wounded in this special operation. We have a lot of problems, including how well we protect our state border, why it was possible that a person who was wanted by a number of countries and was included in the list of terrorist , torned out to be in our capital, "- said GYLA Chairman Sulkhan Saladze.
Part of NGOs, are planning to arrive in the gorge and get information about the special operation from 19-year-old Temirlan Machalakishvili"s family. Third sector representatives believe that the security service has demonstrated power.
"The special operation was conducted in Pankisi with a clear demonstration of force and aggression. There are serious question marks about the wounded young man, whether the force that the law enforcement officers used against him was necessary and proportionate, "said Tamta Mikeladze, representative of the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center.
