The non-parliamentary opposition evaluates the special operation carried out in Pankisi. They ask the government to give answers to questions. According to the members of the opposition, if the law enforcers exceed the authority, they should be held accountable before the law.
"Georgia is not divided into gorges. Pankisi is Georgia. Therefore, the Georgian government will have to explain to the Georgian society what happened in Pankisi. There is no justification when the riot shoots own citizen in the forehead. We should all have to force the authorities to stop the crime and if the abuse took place, the perpetrator should be held responsible, "said Nino Goguadze, one of the leaders of the Free Democrats.
Members of the opposition call on the authorities to provide detailed information to the detainees" families and the society about the special operation.
