A Judge of the Tbilisi City Court has sentenced the third president of Georgia to three years of imprisonment. The decision was announced a few minutes ago.

The case is about pardoning persons detained in regard to the Girgvliani case. Mikhail Saakashvili"s advocate claims that she has got acquainted with the case and found no evidence which would prove the guilt of his client.

Mikheil Saakashvili himself has no doubt that the case is politically motivated. That is why he has recused his advocates and declared distrust to the Georgian justice.

Mikheil Saakashvili"s lawyer Sopho Goglichidze states that the third president of Georgia is accused of using the right granted by law, which she says is an absurdity.
