He confirmed that there are many questions in the society and international community - Bibilashvili speaks about Margvelashvili"s statement

"He said that there is no precedent in the world when the exclusive constitutional right of the president to pardon a person was used as basis for persecution," said Zaza Bibilashvili, deputy chairperson of the political council of the United National Movement regarding President Margvelashvili"s statement.

According to Zaza Bibilashvili, Margvelashvili once again confirmed that there are many questions about the case at the international level.

"He confirmed that in the society and most importantly in the international community there are many questions about what really happened and what motivation was there," Bibilashvili said.

The deputy chairperson of the political council of the United National Movement also says that the city court revised the president"s constitutional right.

"The Prosecutor"s Office has made a political statement and the court has made a revision of the constitutional powers of the president, this clearly goes beyond constitutional scope and iis an action against our state," Zaza Bibilashvili said.

The Tbilisi City Court sentenced the third president of Georgia to three years imprisonment for pardoning 179 prisoners, including convicts in Sandro Girgvliani"s case.

Later, Giorgi Margvelashvili responded to the decision of the City Court and noted that the pardoning application against the ex-president was inaccurate and damaging the image of the country.
