Besides the opposition, members of the ruling team also oppose the implementation of the pension reform.

European Georgia has demanded the government to  submit a formula for calculating the accumulated pension. Debates between the minority and deputy finance minister began after the author of the bill accused the opposition of manipulating the numbers.

The minority demanded from the government why the accumulated pension is mandatory and not voluntary.

The part of the majority is also against existing edition of the accumulated pension contradicts. The package of draft laws initiated by the government failed at the Sectoral Economy committee meeting yesterday .

Members of the Committee are requesting to consider the guarantees and inflation risk for citizens involved in the project. Another requirement of the majority members is to strengthen the role of the National Bank in the process of reform.

How to manage a pension fund, which should be created after the reform, is one of the main questions that experts in the field have.

According to government estimates, the accumulated pension system will be implemented in the country from September 2018. Consultations will be held on the amendments between the sectoral committees and the Ministry of Finance.
