Anri Okhanashvili"s candidacy was not supported by both the opposition and the representatives of the parliamentary majority. Members of the National Movement Nika Melia, Members of the Alliance of Patriots - Nato Chkheidze and Davit Chichinadze and Gedevan Popkhadze, Members of Parliamentary Majority voted against him.Eka Beselia and Levan Gogichaishvili did not attend the voting process.
Beselia said several days ago, after the parliamentary majority meeting that Gogichaishvili"s candidacy was acceptable for her as chairman of the committee.
Members of the parliamentary majority say that Anri Okhanashvili is competent in this position and there should be no questions regarding his professionalism.The post of the chairperson of the Legal Committee became vacant since Eka Beselia resigned.
