Neither Bidzina Ivanishvili"s interference nor the Kobakhidze-Mdinaradze group"s effort was sufficient. The parliamentary majority did not collect 76 votes to replace Zviad Kvachantiradze. After that the heavy party artillery was involved, the bureau session was appointed, the general parliamentary mobilization was announced and the unprecedented decision was made - the issue was brought to repeated vote again.
Finally Kvachantiradze left his position before the second ballot.The members of the parliamentary majority say that sufficient votes could not be collected due to technical shortcomings.
According to them part, the lawmakers mixed up the color of the buttons and instead of the green buttons, they hit the red button.
MP Tsotne Zurabiani says that there are no grounds for insinuations.
"There was a usual technical fault, a similar error occurred in the second legislative package. So there is no place for special insinuations. Our attitude is clear and not only today, all these days, clear and unambiguous statements are made regarding this team. So I do not think any of the questions are reasonable, "said Tsotne Zurabiani, a member of the parliamentary majority.
Another member of the parliamentary majority, Rati Ionatamishvili, said that he had his own opinion and thought Zviad Kvachantiradze had to resign but said that the technical error occurred.
Davit Matikashvili says that there was a technical problem at the session. As for the consultations with Irakli Kobakhidze, Matikashvili claims that the meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament was not related to the question of Kvachantiradze"s resignation.
