The Prime Minister of Georgia said that former Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili was not a political prisoner.

“Of course, Vano Merabishvili was not and could not be a political prisoner”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.

Georgian Interior Minister also commented on the release of Vano Merabishvili.

“Vano Merabishvili has served his prison term, sentenced by the democratic court of our country. I will not comment on his remarks, since the representatives of the authorities have already made statements in this regard”, - concluded Vakhtang Gomelauri.
