Majority believes that Ombudsman`s assessments of wiretapping law are exaggerated - opposition does not agree with ruling party

According to the majority, the assessment of the Public Defender with regard to the so-called wiretapping law are exaggerated . As Ucha Nanuashvili has stated , he is going to appeal the law in the Constitutional Court.The Chairman of the Georgian Dream parliamentary faction, Mamuka Mdinaradze says that the interests of citizens as well as national security are fully taken into account in the new law.

Unlike the majority, the opposition says that it is evident from the Ombudsman`s report human rights are still violated in the country.

"This report is yet another confirmation that there is complete consensus in the Georgiacommunity today that this law on wiretapping is a threat to human rights," - said the member of the European Georgia faction, Helen Hoshtaria.

National Movement welcomes the decision of Nanuashvili to appealthe wiretapping law in the Constitutional Court. Zaza Bibilashvili says that the new law not only does not comply with "the Constitutional Court decision, but it is a mckery of the civil society."
