The Head of the State Security Service will present the 2016 report to the Parliament today. MPs will listen to Vakhtang Gomelauri at the plenary session. The majority has questions mainly about border protection and international terrorism.

The session will be held in half-closed model. The opposition is demanding that the session be held in open format.

"How Ivanishvili used the State Security Service in the pre-election period and the new law on according tto which the State Security Service still is able to carry out illegal surveillance, so we have a lot of acute question," said Tinatin Bokuchava, a member of the UNM.

The opposition is also planning to ask questions on the law on wiretapping and the optimization of the technical-operative service.

"Security Service is the main political instrument for Bidzina Ivanishvili`s informal governance. There are also questions about systemic corruption, "says Sergo Ratiani, one of the leaders of the European Georgia.
