Rule of electing Ombudsman - another uncompromising decision of ruling team

According to the project of the country`s most important document developed by the Constitutional Commission, the Public Defender will be elected only once for a term of five years. Neither the opposition nor the third sector agree with such formulation.

NGOs offered the government a compromise option that meant prolonging of the term of the election, although the majority did not consider this note, like other initiatives.

Opposition parties think that the Public Defender should be chosen for 6 or 7 years.

The new rule of election of the Public Defender is not a problem for the ruling team.
