The Parliament started working on the Central Election Administration`s initiative. The CEC proposal, which imposes sanctions on a political team in case of involvement of foreign citizens in the pre-elction campaign, has been criticized by the opposition.

The National Movement objects to the legislative proposal of the CEC. The party is convinced that the regulations are specifically tailored for Mikheil Saakashvili and the National Movement.

The CEC denies the accusation and the use of legislation for political purposes .

The CEC does not conceal that the 2016 parliamentary elections showed shortcomings in the law.

Young Lawyers Association does not agree with the initiative of the CEC and offers an alternative version to the election administration.

Amendments to the Election Code are only a form of legislative proposal. The Legal Committee is already working and will soon register the CEC initiative as a bill.
