Public Defender of Georgia is holding meetings in Strasbourg.

Ombudsman informed the PACE members about human rights situation in Georgia. According to Ucha Nanuashvili, attention was paid to the amendments to the constitution, deficiencies in the judiciary, frequent ill-treatment by police and the situation in penitentiary establishments.

"We talked about the changes that should be implemented in the Constitution, and we had a detailed discussion about the situation in the judiciary system and penitentiary system, the prosecution system, the law enforcement agencies, the ill-treatment," Ucha Nanuashvili said.

Today Ucha Nanuashvili will meet with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
