A protest rally in support of Azerbaijani journalist, Afgan Mukhtar is being held at the State Chancellery 

Non-governmental organizations and media representatives want to get an answer to the question on how the journalist got into the hands of Azeri law enforcers and whether or not the Georgian special services participated in the process of his withdrawal from the country.

"This is an incredible thing, if anyone one is involved in it, he should go to prison not just home but to prison. Such a thing is unacceptable to us, "- said - the head of the European initiative -Tbilisi Liberal Academy, Lasha Tugushi.

Representatives of media and non-governmental sector participated in the action.

"I have a lot of questions, are we safe to walk in the street, do we have a state at all?" Said Rustavi-2 journalist Otar Kiria.

The spouse of Azerbaijan journalist Apgan Mukhtar was also present at the rally.

"He was kidnapped from Tbilisi and crossed the border illegally and the Georgian government should not have let it happen. We have moved to Georgia because of persecution and we should have been protected, we request an objective investigation," said Leila Mustafaeva, wife of Afgan Mukhtar.

Representatives of the Azeri community, who were at the rally, say they are being watched. They speak about the condition of Afgan Mukhtar and say that he has multiple bruises and 2 ribs broken.
